Gran Turismo 6
Gran Turismo 6
Are you the new 'Schumacher' ?
Gran Turismo 6 is the sixth game in the Gran Turismo sim racing video game series. It is being developed by Polyphony Digital and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. It is scheduled to be released in the fourth quarter of 2013.
In November 2011, series creator, Kazunori Yamauchi told IGN in an interview that he and his team at Polyphony Digital were working on Gran Turismo 6.[1] In March 2012, workers were seen on site at Mount Panorama in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia, photographing and scanning the track. The workers revealed that Mount Panorama will be included in Gran Turismo 6.[2]
In February 2013, Sony's Computer Entertainment Europe senior vice president Michael Denny claimed that Gran Turismo 6 will remain a PlayStation 3 title, despite the recent unveiling of the PlayStation 4.[3][4][5] In April 2013, two separate online retailers, Newegg.com and Multiplayer.com began taking pre-orders for Gran Turismo 6. On the listing page for the game, both retailers presented a release date of November 28, 2013.
Gran Turismo 6 was announced on May 15, 2013, when Sony Computer Entertainment Europe hosted a celebration of the 15th anniversary of Gran Turismo at Silverstone Circuit in the United Kingdom.[6][7] Kazunori Yamauchi said at the official announcement, Gran Turismo 6 will feature 71 layouts of 33 tracks, 1200 cars, a new flexible rendering engine that features adaptive tessellation, and a redesigned simpler menu interface with faster loading times. Sony has stated a demo of Gran Turismo 6 will be available July 2013.[8][9]
Following the official announcement, Yamauchi admitted that a PlayStation 4 version of Gran Turismo 6 is under consideration as Polyphony has a next-gen version "in mind"
